Description:
Major league franks, minor league franks and free agents will all be available for tasting. A panel of experts will rate the franks, while a children's panel will pick their own set of top dogs. Brewery Ommegang will debut a special beer brewed just for the tasting.
Guest speakers will talk about baseball, hot dogs and mustard. Barry Levenson, founder and curator of the Mt. Horeb, Wis., Mustard Museum, will discuss how mustard became the "official codiment" of baseball. Patrick Martins, President of Slow Food USA, will examine the plight of the independent pig farmer. Rick Sebak, producer of "A Hot Dog Video" for PBS, will examine the history of the hot dog. The Baseball Hall of Fame, located in Cooperstown, will present a talk on the history of hot dogs and baseball.
